A hostage-taking is underway in Paris, in the 12th arrondissement.
Two women are being held by a man armed with a bladed weapon, said a police source.
According to the first deputy mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, the incident took place "in the Aligre sector".
"Avoid the area and follow the instructions of the police headquarters," he said on Twitter.
