Several people were injured in a severe accident on the A3 near Parsberg.
A tractor-trailer rammed a military convoy with full force.
The highway is closed.
Parsberg - A serious accident occurred on the A3 motorway on Monday morning, December 20th.
Between the junction of Parsberg and Velburg in the district of Neuburg in the Upper Palatinate, a semitrailer truck raced into a military convoy for reasons that had not yet been clarified.

The convoy, consisting of three vehicles, was standing on the hard shoulder in the direction of Nuremberg when the tractor-trailer rammed it.
The military vehicles included two tank trucks.
These, like the tractor that caused the accident, went up in flames after the collision.
There were several injured;
the German Press Agency (dpa) reports on a total of eight injured people who had to be brought to nearby hospitals with suspected smoke poisoning.

It is not yet known whether the truck driver whose vehicle was loaded with sawdust was injured even more severely in the collision.
The cause of the collision, which according to initial findings occurred with great force while driving at full speed, has yet to be determined.
In addition to the reasons for the semitrailer driver's loss of control, it is also unclear why the convoy was on the hard shoulder.
The A3 is currently completely closed in both directions.
The traffic is diverted in Parsberg and Velburg.
According to the police, there is currently no danger to the population.
