Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Three Palestinian women prisoners announced today their hunger strike to protest the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation against the prisoners.
And Palestinian media quoted the Palestinian Prisoners Club as saying in a statement today that the female prisoners Marah Bakir, Shorouk Dwayat and Mona Qaadan started an open hunger strike to protest the arbitrary practices of the occupation.
The statement pointed out that, a few days ago, the occupation had detained the three female prisoners in solitary confinement in the Damon prison, and prevented them from visiting.
This brings the number of prisoners on hunger strike in the occupation’s prisons to four, the oldest of whom is the captive Hisham or Hawash Al Mudareb, since 126, amid a severe deterioration in his health that threatens his life, amid the continued intransigence of the occupation authorities with their arbitrary practices and their refusal to release him.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 31 women, are facing harsh detention conditions, and 600 of them need urgent medical intervention.
