The departmental direction for the protection of the populations of the Alpes-Maritimes calls into question the distributor's “extended guarantees”.

It is a not very discreet yellow band that adorns the site of Micromania, the French leader in video game distribution.

Since December 20, an administrative injunction issued by the departmental direction for the protection of populations (DDPP) of the Alpes-Maritimes warns buyers against the “

deceptive commercial practices

” of the company.

A message posted at the top of the site, just before the Christmas holidays.

At the end of its national investigation, the DDPP notes three inappropriate behaviors on the part of the company.

They all revolve around warranty extensions.

According to the injunction, the company presents to its customers "

confusing information on the rights of consumers in terms of legal guarantees

".

Second, she describes a guarantee that happens to be issued by a third party, an insurance broker, as a product of Micromania.
