"I'm dying to work with Beyonce": The Israeli composer reveals what excites him

Gil Shochat, the composer and creator, was among the artists who received a special grant from the Lottery to create a new clip.
"My relationship with the Lottery is long-standing," Shochat admitted.
"From time to time I get support for my projects. The current project is one of the most curious I have had - a combination of street dance and a new classical concert piece. Mifal HaPais does not interfere in the creative process. These are projects whose goal is 100 percent art. "I started at the age of 5," Shochat recalled.
"It was completely coincidental. Until the age of 19 there were very difficult years. I did not know what I was going to do, even though I had already played and written great works. I did not think I would engage in music, but it was stronger than anything else."
On the opera Alpha and Omega - his flagship work, Shochat said: "I started writing the work at the age of 23. It was amazing to see 600 people in an opera house just listening to my work. It's an incredible excitement."
"I'm dying to work with Beyoncé," Shochat admitted.
"If you put a gun to my head and ask who the important composer is to me, I will say that it is Johann Sebastian Bach."
