New Thinking held a press conference today (21st) to summarize the experience of this election and explain the way forward.
Di Zhiyuan said that even though he is the only non-establishment faction, he will not feel too lonely and will cooperate with the establishment faction on democratic issues.
He said that the non-establishment factions are a minority and have failed to control the procedures in Article 23 legislation, but he hopes to mobilize public voices to reflect public opinion.
As for whether a motion to commemorate June 4th will be proposed, Di Zhiyuan believes that there is no need to stick to the form, but to use smarter methods.

When asked whether the defeat in the regional direct elections this time meant that the middle line was not accepted, Ti Zhiyuan said that he believed that Hong Kong people’s pursuit of democracy requires members who criticize the government objectively and pragmatically. He will win more voters’ support in the future. The road is not feasible, or it is pragmatic, moderate, and rational without a market." He said that the new thinking will expand the power of the private sector and will carry out regional work in the future.
As for whether or not a motion to mourn the June 4th incident will be proposed, Di Zhiyuan said that June 4th is a democratic movement and it has its recognizability. To carry out different forms, we must adopt smarter methods.
Regarding Article 23 of the legislation, Di Zhiyuan said that the people of Hong Kong also know the "potential tie". The most important thing is to respond to the public's worries, "I don't control your procedures, but at least, I talk to the SAR government and the central government. Hong Kong people take a closer look."
Di Zhiyuan also pointed out that the democrats have always been a minority in the parliament and hope to mobilize the voice of society, but he is not on the stand of resistance, but "tells the truth and reason."

Regarding Tang Jiahua, the convener of democratic thinking, said that the democrats were "self-defeating and abandoning themselves." Di Zhiyuan said that he did not comment on Tang's remarks and emphasized that the new thinking respects citizens' decisions and does not criticize voters' choices.
When asked if he would meet with the Liaison Office of the Central Committee, Di Zhiyuan said that he has always communicated with the Liaison Office of the Central Committee, hoping to make the officials of the Liaison Office understand the voices of Hong Kong people and have a positive effect on the administration of the central government.
