Partial green mark will be applied in malls, zoom studies in some localities Israel today

The Corona Cabinet this evening (Tuesday) approved the education plan, according to which physical education in orange and red cities in grades 1-6 (starting in another month), and in grades 7-12 (immediately), will only take place if 70% of those cities are vaccinated. If it is below 70% - the learning will be zoomed out.

The cabinet has also approved the expansion of the green label in commerce, and it will apply from this coming Monday also in stores that are more than a hundred meters in size, including stores inside malls and food complexes without seating on site.

Essential stores will be excluded and activated in its purple daughter.

The criteria for the purple mark in the malls will also be tightened, and now they will be according to an occupancy ratio of 1:15.

In addition, a decision was approved according to which the antigen test performers for children aged 11-5 will be paid starting next month, and from Monday a temporary green mark will be given after the first vaccination, as proposed by Minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen.

These are the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (not all of them have been decided):

  • Malls: Green mark in commerce - in stores over 100 meters (including stores inside malls and commercial complexes), including food complexes (no seating on site, only on takeaway)

  • Essential stores will be excluded and operated in purple

  • Crowd Restrictions: No green mark - 20 inside, 50 outside

  • With a green label: high-risk event (including food, drink, dancing) - 100 inside, 300 outside.

    Performances: 300 inside, including space between the seats, 1000 outside (subject to compensation plan)

  • Work from home: Beyond 50% from home, to the public and private sectors

  • The education system: In orange and red localities, when the immunization rate is less than 70%, distance learning - immediately in grades 7-12, another month or so in elementary school

  • Strengthening the health system - including the private geriatric system

The daily number of verified in omicron has doubled

As mentioned, the Ministry of Health today updated on 170 newly verified verified variants.

To date, 341 verified species have been identified in Israel.

Also, out of those 341 were verified, 95 were unprotected (unvaccinated, recovered half a year after recovery, and vaccinated in a second dose more than half a year after vaccination), and 246 were protected.

Meanwhile, there is a high suspicion of another 1,148 cases of exposure to the omicron variant, the results of which have not yet been obtained.

The number of verified people last night was 1,306 infected - the most in the last two months.

Also, the coefficient of infection (R) rose to 1.28, which is a record for the last four months.

According to data from the Intelligence Division's National Information and Knowledge Center in the Corona, "the fifth wave, the Omicron wave, has begun in Israel, along with further outbreaks of the Delta virus."

Out of 174 cases of the omicron strain in Israel, 17 were discovered in the community regardless of abroad. According to the findings of the sewage test, the strain was found in the cities of Harish, Ashdod and Netanya, and in the Modi'in-Ramla (Ayalon-Nesher) area.

Among other things, the infection index is also on the rise, when according to data from the Ministry of Health, 1.27% of the tests last night turned out to be positive - this is a record since October 20.

However, the data on severe morbidity and mortality remained stable, with 89 patients hospitalized in critical condition and only three dying in the last seven days.

The public sector is moving to 50% work from home

Amid fears of proliferation, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and cabinet ministers today approved the reduction of the physical presence to 50% in the workplace in the government and public sectors.

As part of the decision, the directors of the ministries and the directors of the trust units will be able to approve a stay of a higher percentage of employees, while reasoning and updating the Civil Service Commissioner.

In addition, it was decided to instruct the Wage Commissioner to contact all the budgeted and supported bodies in order for them to act in accordance with this decision, including their employees.

The decision will take effect from Sunday, December 26, to Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
