The head of the Russian delegation to the seventeenth regular meeting of talks within the Astana format on Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, expressed his country's concern over the increase in attacks by terrorist organizations in Syria.
In statements to reporters in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, Lavrentiev said today, "We can only be concerned about the increase in attacks by terrorist organizations, not only in northern Syria, but throughout its territory as well," noting that the Turkish regime does not fully implement its obligations under the agreements reached between the two countries. The Russian and Turkish presidents in March 2020.
Lavretniev reiterated his country's endeavor to take steps to rectify this situation represented by the Turkish regime's implementation of its obligations, pointing out that all the foundations and premises are available for this.
Lavrentiev added... We hope that next January the seventh periodic session of the Committee for Discussing the Constitution in Syria will be held, and that the Syrian parties will be able, during this session, to reach a solution.
