The Council of Ministers discussed in its weekly session today, headed by Eng. Hussein Arnous, a draft legislative instrument to grant compensation for the “nature of work” for workers in public hospitals and specialized oncology centers to ensure the continuity of providing health services with high quality and efficiency and to reduce the leakage of cadres with specific competencies.

The Council stressed the need to enhance the competitive commercial role of institutions of positive intervention in the markets by securing various products for citizens at reasonable prices, and extracting seasons and products from production sites directly and displaying them in positive intervention outlets in parallel with the strictness of monitoring markets, controlling prices and holding violators accountable in accordance with the laws.

Engineer Arnous reviewed the results of the government delegation's visit to the governorates of Hama, Aleppo and Idlib and the development and service projects that were put into service, explaining that the government continues to provide everything necessary to bring about real development in all governorates in the agricultural, industrial, craft, tourism, educational, service infrastructure and optimal investment of the components of each governorate.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of securing the agricultural investment needs of lands liberated from terrorism in Idlib Governorate, improving the technical condition of the roads linking Khan Sheikhoun and the surrounding areas, and securing the necessary cadres to provide services to citizens and encourage them to return to their cities and villages.

In addition, the council stressed the need to achieve justice in the distribution of oil derivatives at the level of governorates and local areas, and asked the fuel committees to give priority to completing the distribution of the first batch of heating oil.

The council also stressed the improvement of the entrances to the main cities, including the entrance to Damascus towards the central region, and asked the governorates to take the necessary measures to reduce any repercussions on the service reality as a result of climatic conditions and heavy rains, maintenance of rain drains, and raising the state of preparedness to deal with any emergency during the winter season.

The Council requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform to double production in the fodder factory in Aleppo to secure the needs of livestock and to complete a study to transform the 3,000 hectares irrigation project of the southern Aleppo plains into modern irrigation and the optimal investment of these fertile plains in increasing agricultural production. It requested the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to complete maintenance and rehabilitation Tartous silo.

The Council listened to the memorandum of the Ministry of Communications and Technology on the completed stages of the electronic payment project, and it was emphasized to continue simplifying the procedures and increasing the number of services provided electronically and automating them according to the specified time schedules.

In another context, the Council requested the ministries to complete giving the vaccine against the Corona virus to workers, encourage citizens to take it, and take all necessary to increase the number of recipients, as it is the best way to limit the spread of the virus and break the cycle of infection.

The council agreed to complete the implementation of a development complex in the governorate of Homs/Rablah/Joussiya al-Amar, in addition to a number of service and development projects in several governorates.
