The heritage show “Country of the Sun” by Gabala Dance Theater evoked the rich Syrian heritage and the diversity of civilizations that Syria has embraced since time immemorial until now, with a special celebration of the heritage of the Syrian island.

The show, which was hosted by Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture in Latakia, included nine dancing panels that illumined the heritage and folklore extending from the Syrian coast to the Hauran Plain and the southern region, with a special celebration of the folklore of the Syrian island with a number of paintings that came distinct in terms of dances, folkloric dress, music and singing that characterize the region, in addition To a dance board titled Look at my country, to conclude the show with a Syrian painting, my love.

Afaf Al-Abdullah, director of the show and founder of the band, made it clear in a statement to SANA reporter that the show is completely heritage, and it is a message of love and celebration for our country, Syria, the cradle of civilizations and its rich folklore, which constitutes our immaterial spiritual heritage, pointing to a special focus on the heritage of the Al-Jazirah region, as it constitutes a microcosm of Syria with the diversity of its cultures. Its diversity is in addition to being the basket of good food, the land of wheat and our sun that never sets.

Al-Abdullah indicated that the show included 28 male and female dancers of different ages, as well as poetic paintings inspired by the heritage of each noted region, in cooperation with the poet Bilal Ahmed, who presented the performance with verses inspired by the heritage of the coastal region, and the artist Youssef Al-Muqbil, who put his voice on the poems.

For his part, choreographer Muhammad Othman pointed out that the show paid attention to all the details of our heritage, whether in terms of folklore dress specific to each region or the dances and dances for which it is famous, in addition to the music and traditional songs of each of them, emphasizing the importance of preserving heritage, reviving it and passing it on to the younger generations because it is an important part From our cultural and historical identity.

It is noteworthy that the Gabala Dance Theater Troupe was established in 2014 and has many dance theatrical works such as Syria, My Love, The Wedding, Sons of Life, Brothers of Youssef and Spirit of the East.
