The annual exhibition of the branch of the Union of Fine Artists in Latakia, which is being held in its fourth session within the celebration of the Syrian Plastic Art Days, combines the experiences of veteran artists and others for young people in a visual artistic dialogue that enriches the taste of art lovers.

The exhibition, which is held in cooperation with the Directorate of Latakia Culture, was attended by 55 artists, who presented 62 diverse works between photography, sculpture and engraving, with a multiplicity of techniques between oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel, while wood and stone constituted the two main materials in sculptural works.

The head of the branch of the Union of Plastic Artists in Latakia, Farid Raslan, who participated in a work documenting the ancient architectural style of the city of Latakia, noted in a statement to SANA reporter the wide participation of artists and the diversity of their works in terms of topics, methods and techniques used, pointing to the remarkable presence of artists newly affiliated with the union who supply the branch with their products, which helps them in his opinion To develop themselves and contribute to the fine movement.

The sculptor Zuhair Khalifa participated in two works, one of them made of stone and gave him a philosophy of its own, and another of antique oak wood that is more than 300 years old, shaped in the form of a bird symbolizing migration, describing the exhibition as a beautiful social weather because it allows access to new ideas and experiences and their development and to show the ability of each artist to touch issues humanity.

The sculptor Mohamed Bajano, participating in the exhibition with a sculpture that embodies a sandstone bull, saw that displaying different artistic experiences in front of the public is easy for him to read, describing his honor within the celebration of the days of plastic art for this year as a beautiful gesture in his life, which represents a state of appreciation and respect for the artist’s giving and his experience.

The plastic artist Lina Deeb participated in a work depicting meditating and anticipating women in traditional dress bearing the colors of nature, and she praised the ability of the Syrian artist to continue his giving despite all the difficulties and presence on the Syrian and international art scene.

For his part, the sculptor Nizar Saud, who participated in two oak woodworks, pictures of the horse with its authentic symbolism, considered that the collective exhibition allows the artist to be present in the art scene and present his products and deliver his message to the audience and critics alike, which contributes to creating a state of harmony and convergence in artistic ideas.

The plastic artist, Nojoud Saeed, participating in a work that depicts the emotions and pressures experienced by man, stressed the importance of embracing new experiences and the modern ideas that they can offer that create, with the experiences of veteran artists, a state of visual artistic richness.

The exhibition, which was inaugurated by a large presence of artists and lovers of fine art, continues until next Thursday.
