A turbulent year is drawing to a close: Zolling's Mayor Helmut Priller looks back - and explains what is at the top of the agenda in 2022.

- The subject of living space is at the top of the list of priorities for Zolling's Mayor Helmut Priller for the coming year.
What gives him stomach ache is the lack of staff in the administration.
In retrospect and outlook, the Tagblatt Zollings town hall chief asked for his very personal bad word of the year 2021.

Mr Priller, a look back at 2021: Which film title fits the year?
"The Neverending Story" by Michael Ende.
And the same only for your community? Which blockbuster title does justice to what happened?
James Bond: "No time to die".
Which small and / or large projects for your community are at the top of your to-do list for 2022?
Small: the pump track and dirt park facility.
Large: assisted living in the community of Zolling.
And what important projects will follow throughout the year?
Housing in any form, i.e. socially supported housing construction as well as suitable options for living in old age.
Here it is important to create, among other things, assisted living, but also building land designations for single-family houses and sewer renovations.
In the area of traffic, the focus is on cycle paths.
Above all, we have to tackle the connections between Palzing - Haindlfing, Zolling - Erlau and Oberappersdorf - Nandlstadt.
Is there a topic or a project in your community that is already giving you stomach ache? If so, what is the problem?
The Zolling community is growing - and that's a good thing.
However, there is a lack of staff in several important positions in the administration.
Unfortunately, the search for suitable staff has so far proven to be quite difficult.
Upcoming projects can only be implemented promptly if there is sufficient suitable staff.
Are you also taking something with you into 2022 that should actually have been completed in 2021? What is it
We will continue to deal with flood protection for the next year.
Above all, this was shown to us by the heavy rain events this summer.
The planning and implementation of flood protection in the municipality of Zolling are not yet complete.
This is mainly due to the acquisition of suitable rainwater retention basins.
Your personal bad word of the year?
There are two words, but a coherent concept: "Social Distancing".
What was the best professional moment in 2021?
City cycling in Zolling from June 27th to July 17th.
On the three Sundays we started small campaigns such as the kick-off event, the Radlerwurst or the solidarity cycling together.
That was really nice because it just created a feeling of belonging together that triggered positive emotions in everyone.
And the least beautiful one?
There is no explicit event to be mentioned here.
Rather, it is the totality of social events that could not take place in our community or anywhere else.
How we would have loved to have celebrated Carnival, May Festival, Citizens Festival, Folk Festival and much more.
Suppose you had a wish for your church. What is it?
Changes of any kind. Because those who don't keep up with the times are moving with the times.
However, these changes should come carefully, appropriately and at the right time.
It is important to me that Zolling does not lose his personality.
It should continue to be that lovable and livable spot where people know each other, help each other and volunteer work is an integral part.
What did you teach in 2021?
Everything needs it's time.
Many projects, ideas and wishes sound simple, but are difficult to implement.
In these structures in which we live, all issues, such as environmental protection or monument protection, must be taken into account.
But it is well known that good things take time.
