There was a bit of an uproar last Sunday because some people from Puchheim heard “fires” on Rauscherweg.
The hunting association can explain everything.
Olching - Several SUVs drove up and eight hunters, as it says on Facebook.
Readers have also contacted the daily newspaper about a hunt.
Michael Pöllmann, spokesman for the district group of the Bavarian Hunting Association, provides clarification.
It was a hare hunt, but it took place in a field that was already on Olchinger Flur.
Because of rabbit plague: driven hunt for animals - "completely legitimate"
Olching has a large number of hares and the hare plague made it necessary to hunt.
“Everything is normal, properly registered with the police and completely legitimate.” The rabbit plague is a big problem and fatal for the animals.
Three vehicles were on site.
A citizen had already made inquiries in the district office.
However, the authority informs that the driven hunt is not subject to registration and that no information can therefore be given.
