"Cruel solution": tens of thousands will return to zoom; The parents are frustrated Israel today

2021-12-22T21:01:15.076Z

The dramatic decision to return some of the students to zoom in red and orange cities provokes harsh criticism • "The damage from last year's zoom is already exploding inside us"

Students, want to come study in class?

Get vaccinated.

The corona cabinet's dramatic decision that schooling will be conditioned on children's vaccines is drawing sharp criticism from parents.

The parents' leadership claimed that "the Israeli government has once again found the easiest and most cruel solution - to harm the soft souls of the children of Israel, whose entire crime is their desire to learn after the nightmarish corona year."

Parents resent that the restrictions have only been imposed on the education system.

"The national parent leadership will not allow any more harm to Israeli children, any more emotional difficulties and cases of suicide and violence. The Israeli government must internalize: if the economy remains open, the education system will also remain open."

The most dramatic decision made yesterday concerns the education system: the ministers have decided that starting in three weeks, primary schools in red and orange cities will also learn from home in Zum, if the number of students in the class who received the first vaccine dose is below 70%.

Forecasts indicate that more and more cities, authorities, localities and neighborhoods will soon be added to the list of reds and oranges, meaning tens of thousands of students and perhaps even hundreds of thousands will remain at home.

In fact, if there are indeed dozens of red and orange authorities, it means a return of the entire education system to distance learning because the percentage of vaccinated students, probably in primary schools, is low.

As mentioned, among first-twelfth grades in red and orange localities - classes with a vaccination rate of less than 70%, will study online, zoom. The decision will be applied in middle schools and high schools (seventh-twelfth grades) immediately and in the past has been implemented.

The innovation now concerns the primary schools (grades 1-6), where the decision will take effect from another three weeks.

This is a dramatic decision, as the number of unvaccinated students in the education system at ages 11-5 stands at 874,000 (only 25% of students at these ages recover or are vaccinated).

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's main goal is to increase the proportion of vaccinated students, which is at a low of 26.7% of only vaccinated students.

"Recent Corona cabinet decisions will finally crush the children," says Sigal Spitz Toledano, head of the National Parents' Leadership Protected Team.

"After a long period of Corona, when the results explode in our faces in the form of violence never seen among the students, the Israeli government still decides to ignore the children and close educational institutions without blinking. Zero in creativity."

Today, the outline of the "education traffic light" is to be finally determined, according to which the studies will take place.

It will be updated every week.

Next week's traffic light list includes major cities.

Ma'ale Adumim is a red authority, along with quite a few orange authorities, for example Rishon Lezion.

Alongside it, Givat Ze'ev, Elad, Beer Yaakov, Kedumim, Sakhnin, Mi'ilya and Kfar Yassif are also painted orange.

Rishon Lezion also has a red quarter - Krayot.

There is also a list of orange quarters in major cities such as: Jerusalem - Baka, Talpiot, Arnona, Makor Chaim, Givat Hanania and Shuafat;

In Be'er Sheva - District 1;

In Petah Tikva - District 7;

In Rishon Lezion - Remez-Katzenelson;

And in Tel Aviv - District 3 North, District 4 and District 5. However, mayors will be able to appeal the decision.
