Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen met in Ramallah yesterday (Wednesday) with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and the delegation accompanying him.

According to a statement from the Abu Mazen bureau, the PA chairman updated his guest on "recent developments in the Palestinian territories and the need to end the Israeli occupation of the territories of the State of Palestine and stop the settlement activity and the settlers' attacks and terrorism."

In addition, Abu Mazen spoke with the adviser about the "importance of the occupation of the historic situation in Harem a-Sharif and the cessation of the removal of Palestinian residents from Jerusalem neighborhoods and the tax cuts and the suffocation of the Palestinian economy."

The PA chairman stressed the need to "stop Israel's unilateral practices that undermine the two-state solution and the need to move to the implementation of signed agreements between the parties in order to begin a genuine political process in accordance with UN resolutions."

Abu Mazen also stressed the importance of continuing to work on strengthening bilateral relations with the United States and overcoming obstacles.

According to a statement from the Abu Mazen bureau, the US adviser conveyed President Biden's congratulations to the chairman of the Palestinian Authority, Abu Mazen, and his confirmation that the United States is committed to a two-state solution.

This is in addition to the importance of the joint work of all parties to move forward to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Palestinian side, in addition to the chairman, Minister Hussein a-Sheikh, and the head of General Intelligence, Majed Faraj.
