Police today (Wednesday) arrested a 15-year-old boy, a resident of the Sharon area, on suspicion of sexually harassing dozens of girls in the central area.

The 15-year-old was sent to house arrest.

For the past two months, police have been conducting an investigation after receiving complaints that the boy was sexually touching girls as young as 6-8 years old on the street.

After surveillance, the suspect was arrested in Petah Tikva.

Upon completion of his interrogation, the suspect boy was sent to house arrest under restrictive conditions and bail from his parents.

A similar case was reported earlier this month after a 15-year-old student was arrested by police on suspicion of committing sexual offenses with a student at his school.

The student has previously been suspected of raping a student at his previous school, and a string of complaints from other students have been voiced against him.

Earlier this week, the police filed a prosecutor's statement against the Juvenile Magistrate's Court in Bat Yam.

Once the investigation is complete, the boy will be charged with rape, indecent acts and obstruction of investigation procedures.

His detention was extended until tomorrow.
