The Abu Mazen bureau today (Wednesday) issued a sharp statement of condemnation of what the chairman of Ram Mansour Abbas said yesterday at the Israel Business Conference of the Globes newspaper.
In an interview at the conference, Abbas said, among other things, that "the State of Israel was born as a Jewish state. It is the decision of the people and the question is not what the identity of the state is. It was born this way and will remain that way."
He added in the context of the Nationality Law: "I was at a demonstration in the Nationality Law and I do not want to deceive anyone. The question is what is the status of the Arab citizen in the Jewish state of Israel. That is the question."

The office of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said that "these irresponsible statements are consistent with the extremist calls in Israel for the expulsion of Palestinians and for the violation of the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the history of the Palestinian people throughout the generations."
It was further emphasized that "Mansour Abbas in these statements represents only himself, and does not represent the Palestinian people in the homeland and anywhere in the world."
The bureau reiterated "such statements that contradict Palestinian religion and history and heritage that have been going on since the beginning of history."
The Bureau expressed regret that Abbas "has become part of a stream that strengthens the Zionist colonialist project instead of supporting his rights. Instead of condemning the settlement and the killings and expulsions carried out by the occupation, and Israeli extremist plans to evacuate Palestinian land, we see it repeating the Zionist movement's unrelated To history. "
The PA chairman's office also condemned "Mansour Abbas 'strange silence about what the settlers desecrating the plazas of al-Aqsa Mosque are doing, and his shameful silence in the face of the battle for Jerusalem and the holy places, and President Mahmoud Abbas' efforts to fend off the century-old deal and overthrow it."
