Corona measures opponents moved through Wolfratshausen, Geretsried and Tölz on Monday.

The "walks" were not registered.

According to Kripo, that should have happened.

Wolfratshausen - grave candles in the old town, carried by a silent crowd: Around 650 people marched through Wolfratshausen on Monday evening, 500 through Bad Tölz and almost 100 through Geretsried.

The events declared as “walks” are currently taking place all over Germany.

They are not registered with the authorities.

The district office had not received any information about the meeting that week either.

Corona “walks” are not registered: “Completely contradicts the legal opinion,” says Kripo

As press spokesman Michael Heigl explains, it should have been different: “It's not about spontaneous walks, but about meetings planned in advance.” The events were organized via social media such as the news service Telegram: “It is a regular appointment a fixed group of people takes part, ”says Heigl.

According to a new enforcement notice sent by the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior to the district offices, such events are notifiable.

"Walks" against corona measures - protests get by without speeches and posters

This is confirmed by Steffen Frühauf,, First Chief Detective Inspector and Head of the State Security Commissariat of the Weilheim detective.

"If the participants claim that it does not have to be registered, that contradicts the legal opinion completely," says the former vice-chief of the Wolfratshausen police.

There is an obligation to notify the organizer.

Whoever calls for participation is seen as such.

Even if there are no speakers at the meeting, “an opinion can be expressed tacitly, for example by carrying candles or grave lights,” explains Frühauf.

The nationwide “walks” show solidarity with protests against the Corona measures.

Kripo officer says: Corona walks must be registered

The obligation to register does not serve to curb the participants, stresses Frühauf, "on the contrary: registration is important so that measures can be taken to protect the meeting in good time," for example in traffic.

It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that the participants can exercise their basic right to freedom of assembly as long as it is peaceful.
