The demo call by corona deniers in front of the house of the Thuringian Minister of the Interior also causes outrage in Berlin. The Eastern Commissioner Carsten Schneider (SPD) fears the possible escalation to violence.

The anger and hatred of the corona deniers are increasingly directed against individual representatives of the state.

The day before, a demonstration was called in front of the home of the Thuringian Minister of the Interior, Georg Maier (SPD).

The Federal Government’s Eastern Commissioner, Carsten Schneider (SPD), has sharply criticized threats against politicians.

"Threats or attempts at intimidation are completely unacceptable," he told the editorial network in Germany.

Those who support such marches also approve of a possible escalation.

"Violence has no place in political disputes, it threatens our democracy."

Police: no gathering in front of Maier's house

On Tuesday, a call for a demonstration in front of Maier's house was circulated on social media.

The police then searched the home of a 38-year-old suspect and found evidence.

According to the police, there was no meeting in front of the house that evening.

The police were there, but everything remained quiet, said a spokesman.

Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow was appalled by the calls for demonstrations in front of his interior minister's house.

"This is fatally reminiscent of the methods of the SA, and obviously one no longer has any problems moving along this traditional line of terror," said Ramelow.

The SA was a paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP in the Weimar Republic and in the "Third Reich".

The case is reminiscent of the beginning of December: two weeks ago, several dozen right-wing extremists gathered in front of the home of the Saxon Health Minister Petra Köpping (SPD).

Then Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) spoke of "methods that the SA invented".

In addition, the police in Saxony last week arrested several suspects who are said to have forged plans to murder Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU).

The members of a Telegram chat group, which combines the rejection of vaccinations, the state and the current corona policy, "expressed in the aforementioned chat group and at non-virtual meetings, among other things, plans to kill the Saxon Prime Minister and other representatives of the Saxon state government," it said the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony.
