Freising's District Administrator Helmut Petz is not very pleased with the rejection of the dialogue forum.

Because he is still convinced: Closing the S1 gap with the U6 is important.

Freising

- The fact that as a result of the so-called dialogue forums on the “Bahnausbau Region München” program, the connection of the Garching Research Center to the S-Bahn (and thus to the other Freising TU location and the airport) will not be pursued (we reported) the Freising District Administrator Helmut Petz "surprised".

Because the gap between the U6 and the S-Bahn, which is important not only from a district point of view, was received as a good idea by all ministries to which he made the request, said Petz.

Previous reactions

But now what Petz described as a "comparatively sober rejection" in view of the previous reactions. But giving up is out of the question: "We will continue to pursue this", he emphasized with a view to the statement from the dialogue forum that one should not pursue the connection to the Garching Research Center any further. You won't tire of fighting for this project. And given the "big players" who are very interested in the connection - for example TUM with 35,000 employees and the airport with 38,000 employees - "politics cannot simply turn away", the Freising District Administrator was certain . And it is no secret that the Free State, unlike other political levels, has "never been a major sponsor" of such projects.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
