The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's Intangible Cultural Heritage Initiative has introduced two new traditions that perpetuate Palestinian traditions • Israel is not yet one of the 140 countries commemorated in the project

"Palestinian Embroidery Art" is part of the dozens of new traditions commemorated by UNESCO and joins other Palestinian traditions already commemorated by the organization, including "Tamar Matzui - Knowledge, Skills, Traditions and Methods", a tradition also shared with Bahrain, Iraq Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries Israel, on the other hand, has never been blessed with a similar commemoration by the organization.

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, recently added 39 new traditions to the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) initiative, which aims to promote and perpetuate those legacies.

In contrast to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which are often seen around the world, the intangible heritage as it is - knowledge, traditions, customs, events, arts, expressions and even recipes passed down from generation to generation and sometimes even orally. An equally significant historical tier, and some would say even more, of all the sites and geographical locations that the organization preserves.

The current list of cultural heritage includes quite a few countries that have been represented for the first time in their history, including the Congo, Denmark, the Seychelles, Micronesia, Iceland and others.

In total, the list includes 630 records from 140 countries, but Israel is not one of them.

Among the new legacies can be found truffle mushroom hunting in Italy;

Drumming, dancing and singing of the Inuit (with Eskimos) in Greenland (territory of Denmark);
