Utting - After Schondorf and Greifenberg, Utting has now also chosen the winners of the first public budget with a budget of 10,000 euros.

At the latest municipal council meeting, Mayor Florian Hoffmann was able to announce the top three projects from the 508 valid votes cast.

With 196 and 102 votes respectively, project sponsor Markus Fakler took first and second place as a double winner. The absolute favorite by a large margin was his idea of a “youth house as a mobile youth club”. Since the demolition of the former youth center on Dyckerhoff-Strasse, Utting's youngsters no longer have a place where they can meet without being seen as a disruptive factor. For Fakler, it is important to finally give young people a place in public space. His concept envisages a construction trailer with graffiti walls that is set up at public locations in Utting that change every three months. This would also create the opportunity to get to know and exchange ideas across generations.

The Uttingen youth would have to take responsibility and care themselves together with a team of helpers.

Fakler has calculated the costs for the acquisition and expansion of a construction trailer and rent for a mobile toilet cubicle to be 3,560 euros.

The local councils liked the idea, as the long-term youth meeting place in the future refuge with integrated storage sheds at the train station will be at least two years away.

Fakler's idea in second place is a neighborhood help via app called "Uttinger Engel".

Anyone who needs uncomplicated, spontaneous support for child or animal care, help in the house and garden or a lift can use the free app on their smartphone or PC to post their request or, vice versa, offer their help.

According to Fakler's concept, the app offers an intuitive user interface and an integrated chat function to easily exchange information with one another. This area is protected and can only be used by people from Uttingen. All you need is an e-mail address and a name, "which in theory can also be given pseudonymized." annual follow-up fees.

The third place “Utting should bloom” is much cheaper at just 265 euros.

According to project sponsor Prof. Klaus-Peter Seiler, four thousand flower bulbs are to be planted for perennial flowering beds in autumn.

He also sees the campaign with many volunteers as an "entertaining hands-on project in which the citizens gain a better understanding of the local environment and thus a greater appreciation of the public space."

According to Seiler's plans, 3,500 crocuses, 750 daffodils and 140 tulips are to be planted manually on the Uttingen access roads, on the edge of traffic islands, in front of the Leonhardikirche, on the monument of Prince Regent Luitpold or in front of the Catholic Church.
