After the chairman's attack, the party is trying to calm the spirits • Zohar: "I do not think such attacks have a place"

The unusual attack last night (Tuesday) by Likud chairman Benjamin Netanyahu against MK Israel Katz from his party, against the background of the "new Likudniks" issue, this morning led to a series of reactions from shadowy MKs in the party.

"I do not think there is a place for this, there is no need to go against Israel Katz," commented MK Miki Zohar, who noted that he supports the removal of the new Likud members.

Zohar added that "the right decision in favor of the Likud in accordance with the Likud constitution is the expulsion of those who act against the Likud. Anyone who thinks his expulsion is improper will turn to the court to prove that he did not do what is attributed to him."

At the same time, MK Shlomo Qarai told Kol Barama radio that "there is a bunch of leftist Meretz voters here who want to tattoo the foundations of the Likud.

The group of new Likud members explicitly say that they are Meretz voters and that the Likud has the right to disqualify them.

They tried to put Meretz candidates in the Likud primaries.

I do not know what is going through Israel Katz's mind.

In order not to lose them in the primaries, they are preserved in the Likud, it is delusional.

"Netanyahu is in friendship with Katz, but until it harms ideology."

Netanyahu said yesterday of the new Likudniks that "such people have no place in the Likud movement. It is undemocratic and it is destructive to the future of our party.

He added: "I expected all Likud members, including the heads of the party's institutions, to fight vigorously against them and work to get them out of the movement. All of them did so except Israel Katz, who to this day has acted and is doing the opposite.

"Anyone who thinks that in order to get a few votes, it is possible to endanger the future of the Likud and the future of us all, will find that more than 130,000 members and Likud members will not forgive him for it."
