Netanyahu v. Israel Katz: "Gathering votes from the new Likudniks" | Israel Today

2021-12-22T05:07:20.317Z

The Likud chairman published an angry post against the former finance minister, claiming that he was not acting against a group of functionaries to win their support in the primaries • "Endangers the future of the party and of all of us"

Last night (Tuesday), Likud chairman Benjamin Netanyahu attacked Knesset member Israel Katz, in a post he posted on social media about the "new Likudniks."

"The 'new Likudniks' are extremist leftists who act as 'Trojans' to crush the Likud from within," Netanyahu wrote.

"Many of them are members of left-wing parties like the Labor Party and the joint list, among them many who were among the leaders of the 'black flags', function for the Likud to drag the party to the left in all areas."

"They demand support for concessions to the Palestinians, work against settlement in Judea and Samaria, pressure to form a government with the left and the right-wing and work to perpetuate the rule of officials and legal advisers.

Netanyahu added: "Such people have no place in the Likud movement. It is undemocratic and it is destructive to the future of our party. Along with the many who are fighting against this phenomenon, there are unfortunately some who prefer to get votes in the primaries at the expense of the state and the movement.

"I expected all Likud members, including the heads of the party's institutions, to fight with all their might against them and work to get them out of the movement. Everyone did it except Israel Katz, who to this day has acted and is doing the opposite.

"Anyone who thinks that in order to get a few votes, it is possible to endanger the future of the Likud and the future of us all, will find that more than 130,000 members and Likud members will not forgive him for it."
