She attends various events and holidays at the Tourism and Hotel Training Center in Dummar in Damascus, where its training programs and classes are in line with the different seasons, according to the organizers, to provide students with various skills and arts that increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
The director of the center, Hala Darwish, said in a statement to SANA that the center’s goal is to graduate trained and efficient human cadres with a variety of experiences and skills. Therefore, its curricula include qualitative lessons for special occasions and holidays, focusing, for example, on ways to prepare and serve food items, decorate tables, and others.
The head of the sweets department at the center, Ghaylan Al-Shara, said that he is currently training students on how to make sweets for Christmas and New Year’s and decorate them with innovative ideas, among the practical kitchen teacher Iyad Saleh, who teaches students the dishes that are often found on the evenings of these occasions, such as salads of various kinds, with emphasis on ways Wash and sterilize vegetables and adhere to occupational safety rules.
Chef Najeh Ziadeh, who trains students in the methods of making soups of all kinds, indicated that practical training should be preceded by theoretical lessons so that graduates possess the basics of cooking and skills to apply them in the places where they will work later.
The Ministry of Tourism opened the Tourism and Hotel Training Center in Dummar in a new look after its rehabilitation in August 2018 to meet the needs of the labor market with trained cadres and support the development of the tourism industry in Syria.
