State witness in Benjamin Netanyahu's trial, Nir Hefetz, continues to testify this morning (Wednesday) in the Jerusalem District Court.
Today, he was questioned by Adv. Michal Ozer Rosen, Iris Elovich's defense attorney.
The beginning of the investigation dealt with the schedules and the first date he met Iris Elovich.
Rosen verifies in front of Hefetz: "The meeting took place at Beit Elovich and I did not know her until then. Did you tell the truth to the police?"
Hefetz responds: "Absolutely."
Rosen responded: "And it reflects an authentic memory. Because you say you remember it was the first time you knew her because 'you were not comfortable with the landlady.'"
Hefetz replied, "True," adding, "Iris was irrelevant and also very passive. She just listened. She did not contribute to the conversation in any way. That is the truth."
Additional statements by Hefetz were also presented in his police investigations in which he confirmed that he did not know her before.
On the meetings in which Iris Hefetz attended, he said again: "It's only after December 27, 2016."
Rosen: "Most of the exhibits I will not submit, calls and correspondence, it will be at the individual level, would have seemed right to me in light of the type of materials."
Hefetz replied: "Everything that has to do with Mrs. Elovich has nothing to do with my decision to be a state witness. I am as shocked as you are that she is sitting here."
Advocate Rosen noted that Hefetz testified in his main interrogation after the 2015 election, "Yair Netanyahu's weight in the prime minister's environment increased greatly," and presented a transcript of Hefetz in the interrogation: "He pushed aside the professional staff, including me, as well as other people who served."
She then turned to Hefetz: "Elsewhere in the interrogation, you defined yourself as a 'Yair victim'."
Hefetz replied: "I thought he was causing enormous damage to his father and the state."
As you may recall, yesterday Hefetz was questioned throughout the day by attorney Jacques Chen, the defense attorney for businessman Shaul Alovich.
