A new study revealed that firearms purchases witnessed a significant acceleration in the United States between January 2020 and April of this year.
A study conducted by Northeastern University and published in several American media showed that more than 5 million American adults owned firearms for the first time in that period, compared to 2.4 million in 2019.
Overall, the survey showed that the number of firearm purchases in the United States increased from 13.8 million to 16.6 million between 2019 and 2020, indicating that about half of new gun owners are female.
