After police investigation, the day before yesterday (20th), a 38-year-old unemployed woman was finally arrested on suspicion of "obtaining property by deception."


Inspector Fok Lam, the head of the Criminal Support Team of the Tuen Mun Police District, explained the facts of the case. The police received a report from a 68-year-old woman in November this year. She was accosted by a woman on the street who falsely claimed that a large number of goods were locked in the warehouse. The money is urgently needed to hire a professional unlocker to open the lock, and the victim will not be afraid to borrow money from the woman.

Later, the woman further falsely claimed that there was a business problem and urgently needed cash flow, and then persuaded the victim to go to the finance company to borrow money on her behalf, and finally succeeded in defrauding the victim of more than 400,000 yuan and then lost contact.

It was not until the victim mentioned the incident to his family that he discovered that he had been deceived, so he reported the case for help.

The Criminal Investigation Team of Tuen Mun Police District and the Criminal Support Team jointly investigated and found that a total of 8 victims were deceived by the woman in the same manner. 8 of them were between 26 and 68 years old, and the total loss was more than HK$500,000 .

Police investigations revealed that the arrested woman once claimed to be "Chen Shanxin" and left a note to the Buddhist master to ask the other party to contact him, and then defrauded the money in the same way.

After in-depth investigation and intelligence analysis, the police identified a suspect and arrested a 38-year-old unemployed woman in the Tuen Mun district on the evening of December 20. She was suspected of "acquiring property by deception" and seized 3 copies of the crime. The cell phone and bank receipts related to the case, the arrested woman is currently being detained for investigation.
