After 20 years, the support for photovoltaic systems under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) ends.

This will now also affect the residents of the solar settlement on Lena-Christ-Straße.

Fürstenfeldbruck - The modules can continue to be used economically.

How, the goal 21 association explained at an online event.

“In any case, continue to use functional systems.” That is the basic advice from Jakob Drexler, a pioneer in the field of solar energy.

He has had a PV system at his home in Hörbach since 1993.

This has not been the case for the residents of Lena-Christ-Strasse for quite so long.

Such systems were installed there on 60 roofs 20 years ago.

At that time there was a remuneration of up to 52 cents per kilowatt hour.

This funding is now running out.

If the operator of the system does not change anything at first, three to five cents will be credited.

"That is actually uneconomical," explains Drexler in his lecture.

But there is time to look for solutions and no pressure to act immediately.

Drexler's recommendation is clear: “Switch to excess feed-in with your own use.” On the one hand, nothing is more cost-effective than self-generated electricity.

On the other hand, the excess energy can still be fed into the grid.

"This means that even smaller systems remain economical."

He also advises increasing self-consumption.

With a heat pump, however, you have to consider the installation effort and costs.

E-cars or battery storage systems are another option. The larger a PV system, the more interesting battery storage systems can be.

"What is ultimately chosen, however, depends solely on personal needs and possibilities," says Drexler.

Drexler takes another worry away from the audience at the online event moderated by Andreas Birzele from Ziel 21.

PV systems have a very long service life.

“My first one is still working,” emphasizes the Hörbacher.

The exchange is only necessary if it no longer works technically.

Because modern systems that generate up to twice the amount of electricity in the same area would have a high purchase price.

Of course, it is an advantage to have a contact person like Ziel 21 in the district.

Because even a PV pioneer like Drexler found that the scope of the ordinances alone has increased considerably.

“At that time we had twelve paragraphs on ten pages with the EEG,” he looks back 20 years.

Now there are 154. Further information at www.energiewende-landkreis-ffb.de.
