French Health Minister Olivier Veran warned of the emergence of record numbers of daily Corona injuries in his country during the coming period, explaining that it is possible that daily cases of infection will soon increase to more than 100,000.
Ferran said in statements to French BFM TV today, "Omicron will be the dominant mutator in France during the period between Christmas and New Year, which will greatly increase the number of cases of the disease," pointing out that there are no plans to impose new restrictions currently, with no possibility excluded, especially “Imposing a new quarantine” if the authorities deem it necessary.
Ferran expressed his hope to increase the number of vaccinated people to contain the spread of the Corona virus.
For his part, French government spokesman Gabriel Attal praised the efficacy of vaccines and their ability to deal with the mutant Omicron, pointing out that the number of French people who received the third dose of the vaccine exceeded the threshold of 20 million people.
Yesterday, France recorded 210 deaths and 72,832 new cases of the virus, while health authorities are working to confront the fourth wave of the pandemic, especially with the recent emergence of the “Omicron” mutant.
