"My daughter cries in class": A mother of a girl with a disability claims to cover up sex offenses at school

A boy from a school in the south is accused of attempting to commit an act of sodomy at the age of 16, suffering from deafness and developmental delay.

The Be'er Sheva District Court held a reading hearing yesterday (Wednesday) in which a 16-year-old defendant from a school in the south was tried in an attempt to commit sodomy against a 16-year-old woman with a disability who suffers from deafness and developmental delay. Along with the criminal case in the legal proceedings, the girl's mother claims that the case is being covered by the school, after it became known that the principal did not know about the incident either. The complex case occurred about a month and a half ago, but since then, according to the mother, no supportive professional care has been activated for the girl and even expressed a sense of attempted rendering by the educational institution.

According to the complainant's testimony, the incident took place during the break at the school. She said the defendant led her to a hiding place outside the school walls, where he tried to perform an act of sodomy on her without her free consent.

The mother of the rapist told Maariv: "A month and a half since the incident took place, and no therapist has sat with my daughter and me. I do not know how to handle this incident without professionals. Where is the education system and psychologists? My daughter cries in class that she receives flashbacks from the incident "The teacher silences her and tells her that it is better for her to forget about it and not talk about it. We feel helpless and we are alone."
