Three Israelis were charged today (Thursday) in the smuggling of luxury watches and jewelry worth millions of shekels to Israel via Ben Gurion Airport. According to the indictment, Israeli, Avi Koren, Mary Lily Benita and Eden Keinan, worked together in "systematic, cunning and sophistication, while meticulous planning in advance."
Smuggling The different was done using a courier who brought the luxury watches and jewelry from different countries and hid them on her body and in her suitcase when she passed through Ben Gurion Airport. The Israelis marketed and sold the luxury products to clients in Israel and abroad.
The indictments were submitted to the Central District Court in Lod by Adv. Adili Dagan and Adv. Hagar Feinberg. And are charged with income tax and VAT offenses, in addition to offenses of smuggling goods in aggravated circumstances and misleading a customs official attributed to the three defendants. The other two are also charged with money laundering offenses.
The indictment was filed following a thorough and intensive investigation by the Beer Sheva Customs and VAT Investigations Department, a diamond unit and in cooperation with the Targets Unit of the Tax Authority.
