The Joint Committee of the “Wounded Homeland” project held a ceremony honoring the outstanding war-wounded in the preparatory and secondary certificates, and the outstanding university graduates among them.

During the ceremony, which was held today at the Officers Club of the Damascus site, 15 patients with total disability who excelled in the preparatory, secondary and university degrees were honored.

The ceremony witnessed a short video presentation that includes stations from the journey of the outstanding wounded in all academic levels and links between this journey and the scientific achievement they achieve in their academic life on the one hand, and the thought of President Bashar al-Assad and Ms. Asma al-Assad and their belief in the cause of the wounded and education on the other hand.

General Mahmoud al-Shawa, head of the joint committee for the "Wounded Homeland" project, Deputy Minister of Defense, said in a speech at the ceremony: Every year, excellence hides for us new names from our heroic wounded, and sets a date with them that brings us together to celebrate it together, in which we congratulate the homeland before we congratulate the outstanding wounded themselves. Those who excelled in the battlefields and defending the homeland themselves today, as every year, excel in the arenas of science and knowledge, thus creating another honor for their wounds and a higher degree for their position in this homeland.

In his speech to the wounded attendees, General al-Shawa quoted President Bashar al-Assad’s speech to the outstanding wounded last year, saying: “You excelled in two exams.

General Al-Shawa emphasized that the “Wounded Homeland” project placed the value of education in a high rank among its principles and pillars. The project considered education from its scientific aspect on the one hand, and from its economic enabling aspect on the other hand, and considered that education is an opportunity to reach the strengthening of the wounded’s material independence.

General Al-Shawa pointed out that “Ms. Asma al-Assad pays great attention to providing full support to the wounded in the war operations who wish to continue their educational attainment, based on her belief in the ability of our wounded to study and excel, as well as her conviction in their ability to restore their physical skills and their ability to work and produce.”

And in a speech to him in front of his distinguished comrades in the preparatory and secondary certificates, the wounded Muhammad Sweilmi from Aleppo Governorate, the first wounded man to graduate from Al-Manara University with a specialization in business administration, spoke about that “what matters most to the wounded person is to receive this loyalty and attention from the homeland for which he fought and was ready to offer his soul.” Redemption for him,” adding: “Every day that passes, we face many difficulties and obstacles, the most important of which are our wounds and injuries that cannot be easily overcome, but the will remains strong, especially when we find support, attention, appreciation and encouragement to continue the road to the end.”

The wounded Swelmi called on every wounded person, no matter how difficult his injury was, to believe in his ability and insist on facing this injury and not to give up. Life continues and we have to be productive in it so as not to become a burden on society, while we can set an example and an example for generations to follow.

The wounded Swelmi also thanked President Bashar al-Assad and Ms. Asma al-Assad for their care, care and permanent support for the wounded, as well as for the “Wounded Homeland” project and its continuous work in caring for the wounded, saying that “the Wounded Homeland project was progressing with a successive service and care development thanks to the thought and directives of President al-Assad and Mrs. Asma al-Assad.” .

After that, certificates of honor and gifts were distributed to the outstanding wounded for the academic year 2021-2022, where eight wounded were able to excel in the preparatory certificate, six wounded in the secondary certificate, and one wounded graduated from Al-Manara University at a rate of more than 80 percent, all of them are distributed in various Syrian governorates.
