A sweet thank you to the nurses, doctors, therapists and the whole hospital team in times of the corona pandemic, there was now Timo Dietz (left outside in black).

He presented 200 bags of roasted almonds.

After Lenggrieser Claus Eder's appeal for donations, 3700 euros have already been raised for the employees in the intensive care unit of the Asklepios City Clinic.

The clinic staff can also look forward to a lot of encouragement from the population.

Bad Tölz / Lenggries

- The Lenggries "Buidleck" participates in the local crib path. In the shop window is a copy that Claus Eder meticulously crafted (we reported). On the outside of his shop, he installed a donation box and set up an extra account on which he collects money for the employees in the intensive care unit of the Asklepios City Clinic in Bad Tölz. “A few hundred euros are actually received every day,” says Eder. So far, it's a total of 3700 euros. “That's really great.” The campaign will continue until January 6th.

The photographer and passionate local history researcher also made a donation himself.

Each of the 42 nurses on the ward received a copy of the recently published photo book, which shows life on the Isarwinkler Almen in earlier times.

Eder and his wife had put a slogan on each book - and a 20 euro note.

340 greeting cards and sweets

These are not the only donations the clinic is happy about these days. As reported, 340 greeting cards and sweets were recently handed over by Tölzer students on the initiative of the Tölzer Parish Association. Both of these were also given at the Egling elementary school, reports Christopher Horn, press spokesman for the clinic. “The Franz Marc Primary School in Kochel came up with something very special, baked cookies and made posters. At the handover, the students asked our nurses and doctors questions. ”It was“ really touching how the children deal with the Corona issue and say thank you, with words that really come from the heart ”. The greeting cards are now hanging in the aisle on the way from the reception to the east building. Many patients and employees would come by there, said Horn. In addition, there were 200 bags of roasted almonds from the Shell station Dietz in Holzkirchen, and the Lions Club Bad Tölz is also planning an action. "We are really overwhelmed by the encouragement and the wave of solidarity that is reaching us," emphasizes Horn. "Thank you very much again at this point."

Colleagues help colleagues

But also within the city clinic, the teamwork and helpfulness are exceptional.

“For example, Ward 4 presented the colleagues in the intensive care unit with a gift basket.

Colleagues from the various wards, from operational and internal medicine departments, work hand in hand to care for corona patients.

A very big praise for the excellent interdisciplinary cooperation, ”said clinic spokesman Christopher Horn.

And all this encouragement is important because, according to Horn, "the coronavirus is still a great challenge for everyone".

Such is the situation at the Tölzer Klinik

Even if the number of corona infections in the district is currently falling again, the situation in the Asklepios City Clinic Bad Tölz is still tense.

19 corona patients had to be treated on Monday, seven of them in the intensive care unit.

“Overall, that's a slight decrease compared to the past few weeks.

In particular, the number of Covid patients who need intensive medical care is still very high, ”says Christopher Horn, press spokesman for the clinic.

The physical and emotional stress, especially for the teams in the intensive care unit, in the emergency room or in the Covid ward, is enormous “and it is not uncommon for it to reach its limits.

The commitment and motivation with which the teams face this challenge is admirable, ”said Horn.

Below average vaccination rate in the district

The clinic spokesman continues to describe the fact that “the vast majority of corona patients who previously had to be treated in the intensive care unit are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated” as “frustrating for the entire workforce”.

The vaccination rate, which is still below average in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, is proving to be a major problem.

Only around 60 percent are fully primed at the moment, 61.3 percent with a first vaccination.

For comparison: the nationwide quota of those fully vaccinated was 70.4 percent on Tuesday, the nationwide quota was 69.1 percent.

Worry about Omicron

In addition, it is not yet clear how the situation will develop against the background of the new Omikron virus variant, said Horn.

On Tuesday, the district office reported the first confirmed case in the district.

The Tölzer City Clinic's appeal continues to be: “Get vaccinated and take advantage of the booster vaccination offers.

Complete vaccination protection offers the best protection against severe Covid courses. "

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, around 950 Covid patients have been cared for inpatients and outpatients in the Tölzer Asklepios Clinic.

Among them were 110 people who were in the intensive care unit.
