The European Union announced today that the eighth round of negotiations between Iran and the Four Plus One Group will be held next Monday in the Austrian capital Vienna.
The Union said in a statement today: The Joint Committee of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan will hold a meeting on Monday, 27 December in Vienna, and it will be chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General and Political Director of the European External Action Service, Enrique Mora, while representatives from China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and Iran will attend.
"The participants will continue to discuss the possibility of the United States returning to the nuclear agreement and how to ensure the full and effective implementation of this agreement by all parties," the statement said.
In turn, the European Union coordinator in the Vienna negotiations, Enrique Mora, announced today that the Joint Committee of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will meet next Monday to discuss and determine the next steps, pointing out that "it is important to accelerate the discussion of the main outstanding issues and move forward and work closely with the United States to facilitate the negotiations."
Seven rounds of talks were held between Iran and the international community on the nuclear agreement in Vienna, in light of the Iranian side's affirmation of its commitment to reach positive results to ensure the lifting of the unjust US embargo imposed on his country, and the intransigence of the US side and its continuation of the policies of imposing sanctions and unilateral measures.
