The third division game between MSV Duisburg and VfL Osnabrück, which was canceled after an incident of racism, will be repeated.
The German Football Association (DFB) announced this decision by the sports court on Thursday.
“The repetition of the game corresponds to the requests of the clubs involved.
The DFB control committee had also spoken out in favor of repeating the game, ”wrote the association.
Duisburg - The deputy chairman of the sports court, Stephan Oberholz, said: “The incident is a non-standardized special case, which, regardless of any fault of the clubs involved, justifies repeating the game in the view of the sports court.
Emotionally and morally, we consider VfL Osnabrück's decision not to continue the game to be understandable. "

The Osnabrück player Aaron Opoku was allegedly racially insulted by a Duisburg spectator on Sunday.
As the first game in one of the three German professional leagues, the duel between the two traditional clubs was first interrupted and then canceled.
Both clubs welcomed the decision with a joint message.
“But we also hope that such an abandonment will remain unique,” said Duisburg's President Ingo Wald.
VfL President Holger Elixmann emphasized that both clubs had "set a clear signal against racism and for humanity through their behavior, the DFB has joined in the sense of football with the judgment".
