A senior official at the Island Health Ministry branch said they began an effort to locate the tourist on Wednesday morning after learning they were on the island, they found him at a local restaurant and he coordinated his extradition.

At the same time, the hotel was informed that its test had turned out to be positive for the corona virus.

Hotel staff reported his absence to police.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying that he arrived in Pattaya and tried to check in at a local hotel but refused to present a passport and the hotel rejected him.

The offense carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and / or a fine of 40,000 baht, which is about NIS 3,750.

Baruch may also be charged as a foreign citizen who did not stay in the place he was allowed to stay while in the country.

The offense carries a fine of up to 5,000 baht.
