Various sewing, embroidery and crochet works, plastic art paintings and mechanical manufacturing models were included in the annual exhibition of vocational and technical education, which was organized today by the Directorate of Education in Damascus Countryside, in the hall of the Martyr General Mohsen Makhlouf Educational Complex in the suburb of Qudsaya.
The exhibition, which lasts for 3 days, was attended by male and female students from 39 public and vocational high schools from Damascus countryside, according to the Director of Education in Damascus Countryside, Maher Faraj, who explained in a statement to SANA that the exhibition is an annual event that aims to create competition among students and display the results of practical training that takes place throughout the academic year.
Faraj indicated that a committee of specialized mentors for artistic and vocational education was formed, which evaluated the completed and designed works by the students and chose the best ones to participate in the exhibition.
The supervisor of technical lessons in Qudsaya schools Fatima Malin indicated that the exhibition contributes to the transition to the production stage after training the students and providing them with the skills necessary for their products to come in measure for the extent of application of these skills as it embodies the practical aspect of the educational curricula. Vocational education is an urgent need to graduate competencies capable of contributing to development, entering the labor market and supplying it with cadres with technical and technical skills.
She explained that the exhibition provides a stimulating environment for students to develop and invest their experiences and skills, and to support the integration between theoretical and applied studies, as an ideal opportunity for the participation of students of the first cycle of basic education through investing in the environment and recycling it to turn into antiques and fine works of art.
From the Women’s Vocational High School in Dimas, the student Mary Mar Suleiman participated in crochet, sewing and embroidery to highlight the importance of vocational education, show their creativity and successes, and form positive attitudes towards this education and its development. And its importance to be a starting point for its entry into the labor market.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, and party and educational activities.
