The square of the Martyrs’ Park in the town of Sadad in the Homs countryside witnessed this evening the lighting of the Christmas tree and the opening of the Christmas cave “Your birthday is the decoration of our holidays.”
The celebration, which is being held for the eighth year in a row with the voluntary efforts of the brotherhood of Sadad university students, “Youth Along” included a representative scene of the Christmas event and a Christmas grotto in several rooms.
Abla Al-Hay, the media official for the Sadad university fraternity, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the Martyrs’ Square was chosen next to the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese to implement the cave and it was divided into rooms to embody in one of them the heritage and civilization life of the town of Sadad, while the old agricultural tools and the old loom were displayed in another room in addition to the Allocating a space for children's games that included Christmas models, cartoon games and children's favorite characters.
The mayor of Sadad Thaer Qastoun indicated that the event today carries with it joy and hope for a better tomorrow that erases the aches and pains the town witnessed during the past years through the systematic destruction of its cultural, cultural and religious landmarks as a result of terrorism, explaining that the townspeople sought to live the atmosphere of the feast and its details as an annual tradition after its liberation from the Terrorism at the hands of the brave Syrian Arab Army by lighting the Christmas tree and the cave to be a source of joy and happiness for young and old.
A number of the people who attended the event expressed the feelings of joy and optimism that the lighting of the tree and the cave conveyed in a message from a people who refuse to surrender and love life and victory.
