From December 28th, contact restrictions will also apply to vaccinated and convalescent people in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Private indoor and outdoor get-togethers are then only allowed with a maximum of ten people - there is no limit to the number of households.
With this rule in its updated Corona Protection Ordinance, NRW implements the latest joint corona resolutions by the federal and state governments.
Düsseldorf - Children up to and including 13 years of age are exempt from the restriction. As soon as an unvaccinated person takes part, the stricter provisions continue to apply, but apart from your own household, only two people from another household are allowed to participate.
As the State Ministry of Health announced on Thursday, major events are also no longer allowed to have spectators.
There is also a new tightening of mask and test requirements in the leisure area.
"Because of the significantly higher aggressiveness of the Omikron variant, the exceptions to the mask requirement will be reduced," said the ministry.
Since masks cannot be worn for indoor sports, in swimming pools and for wellness offers, immunized persons would in future also have to carry a current, negative rapid test evidence that is not older than 24 hours with them.
There is no detailed definition of this in the federal-state resolution.
