The Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Mar Ignatius Youssef III Younan affirmed his confidence that Syria will get rid of terrorism and return to fraternity and stability.
In today's Christmas message, Patriarch Younan said that "Syria is still suffering from the effects of the war, which is nearing its twelfth year, despite all the efforts made by the government and its goodwill friends to get out of this dark tunnel that displaced millions of its children," adding, "It is true that the sounds of cannons have subsided. Life has returned to normal in most cities and villages, but unfortunately some countries continue their attempts to manipulate the fate of an entire country and the lives of a people who only want peace and security to be able to return and contribute to the reconstruction of their country with those who remain in the country because homelands are only built with the help of their children.
Patriarch Younan added, "We pray that Syria grants peace and stability, as well as Lebanon grants stability and a quick end to the path of its pain, so that it returns the Qiblah of countries, east and west, so that its children can enjoy peace and a decent life."
Yunnan indicated that the world is still groaning under the weight of the difficult conditions that arose as a result of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic and the consequent major economic crises as it enters its third year, pointing to the difficult conditions that our countries in the East suffer from, security and political dangers, and social and economic challenges.
