(CNN Spanish) -

A jury found Rafael “Raphy” Pina Nieves, producer and representative of several urban music artists, guilty on Wednesday of alleged violations of the federal firearms law.

The reading of the sentence is scheduled for April 1, 2022.

Pina Nieves faced two charges, one for possession of a firearm illegally modified to fire automatically, and the other for possession of firearms as a federal convict, since in 2015 the producer was found guilty of bank fraud.

"I am a warrior, I am going to keep going and I am going to show the whole world who Raphy Pina is," the producer told the media after leaving the federal court in San Juan.

"It's the first round of 12. I'm going to enjoy Christmas with my family," he added.

The producer arrived at court this Wednesday with his partner, the singer Natti Natasha, and their three older children.

The exponent of the urban genre Daddy Yankee came to the place "as a friend."

According to court documents, Pina Nieves had a Glock 19 pistol, caliber nine millimeters and modified to fire automatically multiple times without reloading and without releasing the trigger, in addition to a Smith & Wesson .40 pistol and more than 500 ammunition of different calibers .

CNN tried to contact Francisco Rebollo, Pina Nieves' lawyer, but so far it has not obtained additional statements to what Pina already said when leaving court.

In August 2020, when the producer was released on probation with a bond of US $ 1 million for this reason, his legal representative said that both the weapons and the ammunition were found in a safe inside a home where the businessman did not live because he resided in Miami.
