RKI confirms: First Omikron death in Germany

According to a media report, the RKI has confirmed the first death after infection with the Corona variant Omikron.
Germany apparently has the first death after being infected with the Omikron variant of the corona virus.
This was announced by the RKI.
The deceased should be a person between the ages of 60 and 79.
According to the current status, the RKI in Germany has so far assigned a total of 3198 corona infections to the new Omikron variant.
"This corresponds to an increase in cases of 25% (+ 810 cases) compared to the previous day," writes the RKI on the development of these numbers.
Only cases are counted in which an omicron detection via genome sequencing or a laboratory diagnostic suspicion by means of variant-specific PCR was carried out.
