Skiing is risky - even without a pandemic in the background.

Therefore, double caution is required at the moment.

The German Ski Association points out important rules of conduct.

Keep your distance, turn around carefully and don't push yourself into the lift: During the corona pandemic, many things are the same, but also some things are different on the slopes.

The German Ski Association (DSV) points this out.

Be careful when skiing - especially at the ski lifts

Skiers should be particularly careful at the lifts at the moment.

Where crowds were usually the norm,

distance is

required

today

.

In some places fewer people are transported per gondola or chair or seats are explicitly assigned.

This can lead to queues.

The advice of the DSV is therefore

not to wait for friends if possible

, as this also slows down the traffic.

In the waiting area and in the lift itself,

a mask is

generally

required

, in some places only an FFP2 mask is permitted.

Skiers should find out more about this on site.

General rules for skiing remain in place even in times of Corona

This rule of conduct applies regardless of the pandemic: In

principle,

wear

skis

perpendicular to the body

in closed buildings or when there are large gatherings of people.

Otherwise there is a risk of injuring someone.

On the slopes, the weakest sets the pace.

Even weak skiers should regularly take a

break

at the edge of the piste, which only begins when everyone in the group has come to a standstill.

According to the DSV, it is helpful to drive in smaller groups, as this increases driving fun for everyone involved.

Traffic rules when skiing: whoever drives has the right of way

The most important rule of conduct is: if you are already driving, you have right of way.

Therefore, a look up before departure is a must.

Overtaking is

possible

with enough distance

, in principle it does not matter whether from the right or the left.

The edge of the piste is recommended for stopping - but what is most important here is that the area is clearly visible.

It is bad to stop immediately behind hilltops or bends or in narrow spaces.

It should be

natural to offer help to people

who have

fallen

.

Even if the person who has fallen is not injured: Bring back loosened skis, inquire about how they are and help to get up - that is part of being together.
