The third Fahd Pallan Music Forum in Sweida celebrates the memory of the late artist

Various artistic and musical segments are hosted for the third year in a row by the Palace of Culture in the city of As-Suwayda, as part of the Fahd Ballan Music Forum, which started this evening.

The forum, which was organized by the Directorate of Culture in conjunction with the 24th anniversary of the departure of the artist Ballan, included, on its first day, a musical evening performed by the Eastern Takht Qubai Band, which included the musicians Adham Obaid on the lute, Karam Baroki on the violin, Taima Nasr on the law and Bassem Al-Shahf on percussion.

The band presented a variety of songs, including Memories of Muhammad Al-Qasbaji, Love by Adham Obeid, Sama'i Rast, Longa Nkriz by Said Al-Sharaibi, Al-Qantara by Simon Shaheen, One Thousand and One Nights by Baligh Hamdi, in addition to a selection of old tarab songs.

The three-day forum includes two artistic workshops, one of which is choral and music training for children and young adults, and another entitled “Music and Art in the History of As-Suwayda,” in addition to a lecture on the reality of the musical movement in the governorate, as well as evenings, concerts, and various lyrical concerts revived by a group of the governorate’s artists and bands.

As-Suwayda Culture Director, Basil Al-Hanawi, explained in a statement to SANA that the forum comes to commemorate one of the governorate’s figures and artistic figures, who proclaimed his voice and art on Arab and international platforms until he became a school in art and singing, pointing out that the forum is attended by an elite group of artists, musical and artistic bands and is held over a period of three days. From certain singing and music as pillars of culture and creativity.

The leader of the Eastern Takht Quartet Ensemble, Adham Obaid, pointed out, in a statement to SANA, the importance of the forum in reviving the legacy of the great artist Fahd Ballan, pointing out that during the evening they tried to present colors of Arabic music from the Samai and Longa, with the introduction of plays of Arabic songs, emphasizing that music is a language that everyone can enjoy.

It is noteworthy that the late artist Fahd Ballan was born in the town of Al-Kafr in the Suwayda Governorate in 1933 and died on the 24th of December of the year 1997. He received high-level decorations from Syria and Arab countries.
