"There were people who were angry with me and I had to listen to them," Franco said in an interview with the American radio station SiriusXM.
"When something like this happens, the human instinct is to stop it. You just want to go out and do what you have to do - apologize. But that doesn't allow you to do the job of looking at what's inside."
Despite his remarks, it should be noted that Franco (who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "127 Hours") himself did not explicitly apologize during the interview for any of the allegations made against him.
The actor added: "I was completely blind to dynamics of power and similar things, but also to the feelings of others. Apparently there is a glacier beneath this behavior, this pattern, of being blind to yourself and that it will not be resolved overnight, so I just do a lot of rehab. "Drugs and alcohol that I went through to test it and to change who I was."
Just before the end of the interview, Franco referred to the words of actor Seth Rogen, one of his best friends in the past and who has worked with him on many projects throughout their careers, who since the publication of the allegations against Franco has not shunned him until recently. in the future.
"I understand that, he had to answer that for me and I did not want that," Franco said.
"I do not want Seth or my brother (actor Dave Franco, AA) or anyone else to have to answer questions on this issue anymore."
Recall, in January 2018 some women claimed against Franco that he had behaved sexually in an exploitative and inappropriate manner.
Last July he agreed to pay more than $ 2.2 million to settle two lawsuits filed against him for sexually exploiting female acting students at his acting school and by students at the same institution, who claimed to have been defrauded.
