The 28-year-old Henrique Cappellari, suspected of killing his girlfriend, Giulia Rigon, 31, was arrested for aggravated murder on 17 December in Bassano, inside a camper where the two lived.
The provision was issued by the Vicenza Public Prosecutor's Office.
The young man, interrogated at length in the hours following the discovery of the body, and then released, was stopped tonight by the Carabinieri and taken to prison.
According to the prosecutor there was a danger of escape.
The young victim presented deep lacerated-bruised lesions to the forehead, head, and many bruises and wounds to the head and other parts of the body. The man defended himself by claiming that his partner had died following an accidental fall on the threshold of the camper., And that other bruises had been added when the woman had fallen to the ground while he was trying to carry her into the camper. But for the pathologist, the injuries would be incompatible with the outcome of a fall. Those on the forehead, in particular, according to the autopsy, could have been the consequence of blows by Cappellari with a heavy ring that the young man wears to the index finger of his left hand. The numerous and violent contusive-compressive posterior traumas, moreover, they could have been caused by a subject placed over the victim in a prone position, while the injuries to Giulia's upper limbs would have been due to an attempted defense. After being arrested, Cappellari was taken to the Bassano prison, pending the interrogation under guarantee.
