A good ten million adults in Germany are not vaccinated against the corona virus.

Despite the dramatic situation in German hospitals and the nationwide discussions, the number has hardly changed in the past few weeks.

Now the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer, appeals to vaccine skeptics to deal intensively with the issue with a view to the community.

"Ten million unvaccinated people in Germany, that is simply too great a risk for society as a whole," said the SPD politician of the dpa news agency in Mainz.

“Omikron is incredibly contagious.

According to scientific statements, you can hardly escape the virus. «Dreyer assumes that the facility-related vaccination requirement, the offer of another vaccine (Novavax) and appeals will significantly increase the vaccination rate.

She also considers the discussions about compulsory vaccination for everyone to be important.

"I think it is right that the Bundestag and the Bundesrat are now clarifying the framework for a general vaccination requirement," said Dreyer.

"We need clarity and an intensive discussion in the Bundestag."

"We now have a very strong polarization," said Dreyer, referring to the nationwide rise in protests and gatherings against corona rules.

"The bad thing is that a minority of people who not only have a different opinion, but are radical and also violent, want to intimidate and unsettle the majority."

"Don't run with right-wing extremists"

"We also notice that many people who are vaccinated are becoming more impatient," reported Dreyer.

"The lack of understanding that so many still hesitate to get vaccinated continues to grow in society."

Dreyer appealed to vaccination skeptics and people who do not agree with the Corona restrictions: "You can disagree, you can also express that, but you shouldn't go with right-wing extremists to demonstrate against Corona measures."

Everyone must distance themselves from this radical minority, "who no longer have any inhibitions, not even about being violent."

“Torchlight procession and threats.

Far too often we have had to experience that words follow deeds, «says Dreyer.
