The Brazilian government announced this Friday that it will donate 500,000 doses of vaccine against covid-19 to Paraguay, which will be the first nation to benefit from an effort to "save lives and take another step to overcome the pandemic "according to a joint statement from the Brazilian ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health.

The statement adds that "since the appearance of the new coronavirus, Brazilian health diplomacy has prioritized the promotion of international solidarity initiatives, in order to reach solutions to the health crisis, which affects all countries."

He also assures that the initiative "reinforces the strong ties that unite the two countries."
