Christmas has also hit the German music charts.

A classic from the eighties is now in first place - for the first time ever.

Munich - Oh you happy!

Christmas is here and the Christmas music has been filling the country for weeks - regardless of which radio station or which store you are in.

But just in time for December 24th, a little Christmas miracle is taking place in the German music charts.

Because right at the top in first place is a real Christmas classic, but it made it to the top position for the very first time in 2021.

Believe it or not, but it's true: THE Christmas catchy tune has been greeting from number 1 on the charts since December 24th.

"Last Christmas" by Wham!

is at the top of the official German single charts.

This emerges from the analysis by GfK Entertainment.

Now you might think: This ole bone, of course - it probably jumps to the top every year.

But far from it.

It's the first time Wham!

it has made it to number one in the German charts since its release in 1984 (!!!).

However, they had more chances than almost any other song: After all, “Last Christmas” is the most frequently placed song in chart history.

It's only enough for the very top for the first time.

You can also hear the Christmas bells ringing behind it: Mariah Carey with “All I want for Christmas” is in second place, Chris Rea with “Driving Home for Christmas” is third and Ed Sheeran and Elton John are singing “Merry Christmas” in fourth . Merry Christmas!

If you are still looking for the perfect Christmas greeting via WhatsApp: Here are a few great tips.
